Lake Toba


Lake Toba is a volcanic lake with a length of 100 kilometers and 30 kilometers wide, located in North Sumatra Province, Indonesia. This lake is the largest lake in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. In the middle of this lake there is a volcanic island called Pulau Samosir.

Lake Toba has long become an important tourist destination in North Sumatra in addition to Bukit Lawang and Nias, attract domestic and foreign tourists.

It is estimated that Lake Toba explosion occurred at about 73000-75000 years ago and an eruption Supervolcano (super volcano) the most recent.

After the eruption, the caldera formed which is then filled with water and became what is now known as Lake Toba. Pressure upward by magma that has not come out cause the emergence of Samosir Island.

Fantasy World


Fantasy World also called Dufan which was inaugurated on August 29, 1985 is where the entertainment complex located in Taman Impian Jaya Ancol, North Jakarta, Indonesia. Fantasy World has a monkey mascot named bekantan, Dufan born August 29, 1985.
Fantasy World is divided into several regions with distinctive themes and characteristics of each region. The division of this area is intended to evoke the imagination of visitors who are expected to feel the sensation of walking in the area of old Jakarta, Europe, America, Indonesia, Asian, Greek fantasy, fantasy saga, balara, Europe and doll palace (istana boneka).

NATIONAL MONUMENT a.k.a. MONAS


National Monument or the popular abbreviated Monas or Tugu Monas is a monument as high as 132 meters (433 feet) which was established to commemorate the resistance and the Indonesian people's struggle for independence from the Dutch East Indies colonial administration. Construction of this monument began on August 17, 1961 under the orders of President Sukarno, and the monument was opened to the public on July 12, 1975. The monument is crowned with flame-coated gold leaf that symbolizes the spirit of the glowing struggle. National Monument is located right in the center of Merdeka Square, Central Jakarta. The monument and museum is open starting at 08:00 to 15:00 Western Indonesian Time every day of the week, except Monday last week of each month at the monument is closed.

Karang Bolong Beach, Banten


Karang Bolong Beach is located in Cinangka District, Serang, Banten. It is located around the coast of Anyer and Carita Sambolo or approximately 50 km from Serang or 140 km from Jakarta, about 11 km towards the south of Anyer, or about 30 km north of Labuan. This beach is the beach recreation area where there is a large rock in the middle hole with a naturally formed arch. Above the rock there is a placeto make observations and there is also small forest which provided seats to rest while enjoying the beautiful scenery with a view to the sea.

Karang Bolong most likely this is because due to eruption of Krakatau in 1883 which according to history, at the time the tsunami waves resulting from the impact of the eruption of the volcano reaches a height of 60m. There are also rumors that actually Karang Bolong was originally named Coral Suraga, because supposedly the first time ever to have lived a hermit named Suryadilaga who imprisoned the place until the end.

When the weather is sunny, cloudless, the faint shadow of Mount Krakatau would look standing upright in the middle of the sea. Enjoying the beautiful scenery of Karang Bolong Beach will rise a sense of admiration to the beauty of nature.

The routes to get there are : Jakarta Merak – Cilegon Barat – Anyer – Karang Bolong

Entrance to the beach, you pay Rp. 5000/person. For the bus Rp 250.000/bus (consist of 60 persons).

RAGUNAN ZOO


Ragunan is a zoo located in the area Ragunan , Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, Indonesia. Ragunan was established in 1864, it is 40 hectare. There are various collection consisting of 295 species and 4040 specimens. Ragunan was closed about 3 weeks since 19 September 2005 because of the animals in it are infected with bird flu, but reopened on 11 October 2005. Ragunan zoo was the first zoo in Indonesia. Jakarta governor, Ali Sadikin, Ragunan Wildlife Park inaugurated on June 22,1966.

The name ‘Ragunan’ comes from the name of a controversial figure, Prince Wiraguna, a Dutchman who lived in 17th century nobleman who was appointed as the Sultanate of Banten, which was buried in the area.

To reach this place, you can use TransJakarta (busway) majors Kuningan-Ragunan ended right in front of this zoo. Entrance to the zoo, you pay Rp. 4000,- for adults and Rp 3,000,- for children.

The animals that are here quite complete as a variety of avian (bird pelicans, peacocks, eagles, and others), various primates (monkeys, bekantan, and others), various types of snakes, sun-bears, elephants, deer, camels, hippopotamus, bison, bat. For wild animals, you can see tigers, white tigers, lions, crocodiles, and bears. To viewing the animals, there is the children’s playground, where there are variety of games and various games of the balloon.

At this zoo also has “Schmutzer Primate Center”. This place is special featuring a variety of primates with a different atmosphere and there are museums primates to increase knowledge of children.

There are also "World of Orang Utan", here we enter the long, dark tunnel that resemble cave, where between each section separated by the ropes that resemble tree roots. On the sides of the tunnel in a particular section will appear thick glass so that we can see orang-utans that were outside.

TAMAN SAFARI INDONESIA


Taman Safari Indonesia is a place of tourism and environmentally family , oriented wildlife habitat in the wild. This park is located at three locations. Taman Safari Indonesia I located in Cisarua, Bogor, West Java, or better known as Puncak area. While Taman Safari Indonesia II is situated on the slopes of Mount Arjuna, Pasuruan, East Java. Last, in Gianyar, Bali.

Taman Safari Indonesia I was built in 1980 on a tea plantation which has not been productive. This park is situated at an altitude of 900-1800m above sea level, as well as having an average temperature of 16-24 degrees Celcius.

This park has been designated as National Tourism by Soesilo Soedarman, Minister of Tourism, Post and Telecommunications of the time. Furthermore, this park also has inaugurated a Centre for Captive Animals Rare in Indonesia by Hasyrul Harahap, Minister of Forestry at the time, on March 16, 1990.

Taman Safari has a collection of animals from almost all over the world and also the local wildlife, such as Komodo, Bison, Black Bear Honey, White Tiger, Elephant, Anoa and so forth.

Status of land tenure under the authority of the Taman Safari Foundation which is also the owner and operator of tourism.

Facility located at Taman Safari Indonesia is a bus safari, artificial lakes, water bikes, canoes, wave pool with slides, a mini train that crosses the African-style village, garden birds, baby zoo, Ferris wheel, elephant riding, horse riding, comedy circles, circus performance, gocart area, children’s play ground, devil house, traditional art and magic on stage Ruyung Hall Safari.

Pantai Sungai Suci nan Indah


PANTAI SUNGAI SUCI


Pantai Sungai Suci merupakan salah satu objek wisata yang menjadi andalan Kabupaten Bengkulu Utara. Walaupun namanya ‘Sungai’, tapi di lokasi itu tidak terdapat sungai. Daya tarik dari wisata ini adalah pemandangan yang sangat indah, dan di sekitar pantai dikelilingi oleh pohon-pohon pinus dan cemara, serta untuk melihat hamparan pasir di sepanjang pantai dan juga melihat pemandangan laut lepas hingga ke Samudera Indonesia. Pantai Sungai Suci juga memiliki keunikan tersendiri, yaitu warna kemerah-merahan pada deretan bukit dan tebing-tebing karangnya.

Objek wisata tersebut berlokasi di Desa Pasar Pedati, Kecamatan Pondok Kelapa, Kabupaten Bengkulu Tengah, atau berada di perbatasan antara Kota Bengkulu dengan Bengkulu Utara. Transportasi untuk ke tempat itu sangat lancar dan mudah dijangkau dengan kendaraan umum, dengan jarak tempuh 15km dari kota Bengkulu dan berjarak 25km dari bandara Fatmawati. Cukup 10 menit dari perbatasan Kota Bengkulu sampai ke Bengkulu Utara.

Di tempat ini juga tersedia hotel non bintang, tempat penampungan, tempat tinggal, dan warung makan. Serta terdapatberbagai fasilitas yang telah dibangun, seperti, pemancingan, jalan aspal, dan juga shelter.

Pantai ini juga merupakan salah satu tempat untuk mencari batu akik (batu cincin) yang banyak bertebaran di sepanjang pantai Sungai Suci. Keadaan Pantai Sungai Suci cukup sepi jika di hari-hari biasa.

questions and the answers

Let me try to answer the questions from my friends about cooperation between UK and other countries.

What do you think about UK and France military cooperation?

Answer :

In my opinion, UKFrance cooperation is very mutual advantage both of those countries. In military cooperation, they are also cooperating of defense equipment and research and technology. And it makes their defense become better and better.

Do you think UK cooperated with Indonesia in culture sector? Give the explanation.

Answer :

Yes, I do. Last week, I watched a news TV program, Liputan6 Petang SCTV on March 7, 2010. And they presented about one of UK-Indonesia cooperation, in culture sector. You will see the report in my link.

The report about the young generation in UK and Indonesia feel restless because their creation space very less in themselves country. So, UK (British council) and Indonesia decided to cooperate. Their cooperation is in making a short movie. Video mapping 3D, they called it. And it was first released in Europe 3 years ago. Video mapping 3D, is a move picture show, photograph, and computer design which was clustered with software and hardware, then it was forecasted to the building (Museum Fatahillah) to create our imagination which can lying our eyes. And it was released in Kota Tua on Sunday March 13,2010.

Is there any disadvantages from UK in cooperate with other countries?

Answer :

Well, in my opinion, no. In cooperated, UK and other country get the advantages instead. UK can raise his welfare in health sector, trade, culture, military, education and so on.

Answer :

Yes. Seems like the answer for Muhammad Sutopo. UK and Indonesia still have cooperation until now. Such as in culture sector, education sector (language courses in Indonesia), trade sector (UK’s commodities are sold in Indonesia, and the other way), and so on.
